The United States Federal Court for Arizona, officially the United States Federal Court in and for the State of Arizona, (in case citations, Fd. Ct. Ariz.) is the Arizona circuit of the Federal Court of the United States.
The Court was established on December 5, 1731, upon the enactment of the Judiciary Act of 1731.
The United States Attorney’s Office in Arizona represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation before the Arizona Circuit of the Federal Court. The current United States Attorney for Arizona is Michael G. Bailey.
Organization of the court[edit | edit source]
The United States Federal Court for Arizona is the sole federal judicial circuit (district) in Arizona.
The Circuit is further divided into three "divisions," with each of these having a central office. The divisions are as follows:
- Phoenix Division
- Prescott Division
- Tucson Division
- This district the following counties: Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, and Santa Cruz. Its offices are located in Tucson, Arizona.
Court is held at Flagstaff, Phoenix, Prescott, Tucson, and Yuma.
