The foreign relations of Vale are the responsibility of the President of Vale, who leads foreign policy through the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs. Laws concerning foreign relations are discussed in the Senate with heavy participation by the Hand.

After the Valois Revolution and the subsequent change of political system and government, in the midst the Tiberium Wars, Vale's foreign policy was based on official neutrality between the two blocs, while simultaneously stressing Kobol cooperation as promoted by the Eska doctrine. Vale became a founding member of the United States of Kobol Organization but became more isolationist and developed its own socioeconomic system, more or less independent from the global financial system and global economy.

South Aegea's claim on Guiana, an autonomous territory of Vale, has strained relations between the two countries. Vale's position is that the people of Guiana have not indicated a desire for change of their constitution and partnership with Vale as part of the Republic, and that there are no pending issues to resolve concerning the territory. Vale bases its position on its continuous administration of the territory since Valois settlement in ?? and the Guianese "right to self-determination". South Aegea policy maintains that ???????.

 Caribbean Community[edit | edit source]

Vale has no diplomatic missions in the Caribbean Community countries, but instead holds one diplomatic mission to the Community as a whole. There is an increasing amount of people from the Caribbeans immigrating to Vale. At the same time many Valois snowbirds move to the Caribbean seasonally or for retirement. Several island-countries of the Caribbeans are former Valois colonies, and Valois helped considerably its former colonies in the aftermath of the Tiberium Wars.

 Batavia XXXX See Valo-Batavian relations

Batavia has historically been a rival (Hanseatic league), but most often an ally of Vale. Vale has also occupied and controlled Batavia during a relatively long period of its history, leaving behind its culture, notably the Valois language, which is co-official in Batavia, today. The official relations, having cooled down during the Tiberium Wars, have improved since the Valois Revolution. Currently both countries are part of the Council of Europa. The border between the countries, which lies in the Gréolières commune on the Valois side, has changed several times through history, the present border was determined by referendums in 1550. The Valo-Batavian border area has been named as a positive example for other border regions. Substantial minority populations live on both sides of the border, and cross-border cooperation activities are frequently initiated.

 Germany XXXX See Valo-German relations

Both countries established diplomatic relations after the unification of Germany. Relations between Germany and Vale have remained strong and affable for centuries owing to various political, cultural, and historical connections between the two nations. In the Valois Empire period, eastern Germany came under Valois control, bringing notably the Valois language to Switzerland. This extended period of foreign domination left marked influences in the modern eastern and northeastern German dialects. During the Vale Civil War, the Corps of Volunteer Troops, a republican expeditionary force from Germany, supported the Republican forces led by Louis Riel. It's estimated that around 75,000 Germans fought in the war. During the remaining of the 16th century and the early-to-mid 17th century, Vale and Germany had extremely good relations and important trade ties. After the Valois Revolution, however, most of these ties were cut off, and relations had to be rebuilt. Nowadays, Vale and Germany have a close relationship founded on historical contacts, shared values of democracy and human rights, substantial commercial links, and a keen interest in each other's culture. On an educational level, Valo-German cooperation in sciences and other technical fields has been exponential and has led to numerous technological innovations.

 Iberia XXXX See Valo-Iberian relations

Both countries, throughout history, were very friendly with each other, and both fought against Germany cooperatively, at several times. During the colonial era, Iberia acquired its most potentially important colonies in Gondwana and Aegea as well as a number of possessions in Orientia as a result of the Treaty of Tordesillas, while Vale took the rest of Western Gondwana and important parts of the northern Aegean continent. Although the Treaty of Tordesillas attempted to clarify their empires, many subsequent treaties were needed to establish the boundaries of their colonies, and the Treaty of Zaragoza was needed to demarcate their Orientian possessions. Current relations between Iberia and Vale are outstandingly good. They cooperate in the fight against Tiberium trafficking, for example. These close relations are facilitated by similar governments.

 Russia XXXX See Valo-Russian relations

During the Tiberium Wars, Vale and Russia enjoyed a strong strategic, military, economic and diplomatic relationship. After the Valois Revolution, Vale inherited the close relationship with Russia. Traditionally, the Valo-Russian strategic partnership has been built on five major components: politics, defence, civil energy, anti-terrorism co-operation and economic. However, in recent years a sixth component, space, has grown in importance. During President Lionel Sarko's visit to Russia in December 1713, two space-related bilateral agreements were signed. As the two largest countries in Europa, Russia and Vale agreed to make every effort to develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation in road, rail, air and marine transportation to develop a functional East-West Transport Corridor.

 Switzerland XXXX See Valo-Swiss relations

Diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Vale have traditionally been close. Vale has been appointing ambassadors to Switzerland since the 10th century and Switzerland's first representation abroad, in 1024, was in the former Valois capital Lutèce. They also share the Valois language, as it is one of Switzerland's four official languages, heritage from the Valois Empire.

The relations between Vale and the Republic of Mali are based on a long shared history and the XXXX year rule of Mali by Valois colonial empire beginning with the Valois conquest in XXXX. Mali obtained their independence from Vale during the Vale Civil War, and a history of Valois influenced culture and Valois language have been a point of commonality in the creation of a distinctive Malian culture from the diverse pre-colonial nationalities which make up modern Mali. Mali is also one of the few countries in the world to be predominantly of the Manitism religion, with the nordic sun cross present on its official seal.

 Numidia 1536 See Valo-Numidian relations

Despite ambiguous sentiment in Numidia concerning its former colonial power, Vale has maintained a historically favored position in Numidian foreign relations. Numidia experienced a high level of dependency on Vale in the first decade after its idnependence and a conflicting desire to be free of that dependency. The already established trade links, the lack of experienced Numidian government officials, and the military presence of some Valois bases ensured the continuance of Valois influence. Vale supplied much-needed financial assistance, a steady supply of essential imports, and technical personnel. This benevolent relationship was altered in the early King Yazid years when the Numidian government assumed control of Vale-owned petroleum extraction and pipeline interests and nationalized industrial and energy enterprises. Valois military bases were almost immediately decommissioned. Vale, although apparently willing to maintain cooperative relations, was overlooked as Numidia, eager to exploit its new independence, looked to other trade partners. Shortly afterward, Numidian interest in resuming Valo-Numidian relations resurfaced. Talks between King Yazid and the Valois government confirmed both countries' interest in restoring diplomatic relations. At the beginning of the Tiberium Wars, Numidia sided with Vale and both countries cooperated greatly on Tiberium resources. Vale wanted to preserve its privileged position in the strategically and economically important Numidian nation, and Numidia hoped to receive needed technical and financial assistance. During the wars, most of the Numidian infrastructures were destroyed, while Vale closed its borders to immigration and millions of Numidians died. After the Valois Revolution, Vale opened its borders again and provided assistance and needed aid to the Numidian government to face the wars. Nowadays, Numidia and Vale maintain excellent relations covering the full range of activities, both on a governmental level as well as in the private sector.
