Guiana (Valois: Guyane), officially the Autonomous Territory of Guiana (Valois: Territoire Autonome de Guyane), is an autonomous country within the Republic of Vale, on the north Atlantic coast of southern Aegea. It borders South Aegea to the east, west and south. Its 83,534 km2 (32,253 sq mi) area has a very low population density of only 3 inhabitants per km², with half of its 250,109 inhabitants in 2013 living in the metropolitan area of Cayenne, its capital. By land area, it is the largest autonomous territory of Vale. As an autonomous territory, it is inside the Republic of Vale, and its official currency is the Piastre. A large part of the territory's economy derives from the presence of the Guiana Cosmodrome, as well as its reserves of tiberium. The sovereignty of Guiana is a major point of contention in Valo-South Aegean relations as South Aegea asserts a claim to the territory.
