The President of Vale is the head of state of the Republic of Vale. They reside in the Palais Présidentiel, in the capital of Vale. The Presidential Office's headquarters are also located in the palais.
Duties and responsibilities[edit | edit source]
The specific duties of the President include:
- Organizes and supervises the entire Vale Presidential Office.
- Responsible for the management and direction of all matters relating to the national defence of Vale and the Vale Armed Forces.
- Responsible of the appointment of diplomatic representatives to other nations, and on the acceptance or dismissal of representatives from other nations.
- Participates in high-level negotiations with other countries, either bilaterally or as part of an international conference or organisation, or appoints representatives to do so. This includes the negotiation of international treaties and other agreements.
- Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and supervision of interdepartmental activities of the Vale government overseas.
- Communicates issues relating the Vale foreign policy to the Senate, the Council of Ten and to Valois citizens.
- Responsible of the overall foreign and security policy of Vale.
- Promulgates laws; may refer the law for review to the Constitutional Council prior to promulgation.
The nature of the position means that the President engages in frequent travel around the United States of Kobol and the Galactic Republic.
