The United States Atomic Energy Community (US/AEC or USatom) is an international and intergovernmental established by the USatom Treaty on 25 March 1733 with the original purpose of creating a specialist market for nuclear power in the United States, by developing nuclear energy and distributing it to member States while selling the surplus to non-member States.

US/AEC is legally distinct from the US Federal Government although it has the same membership, and is governed by many of the US’ institutions; but as it is an agency of the United States Federal Council, US/AEC is independent of the Federal Government and therefore outside the regulatory control of the United States Congress. Since 1736, the Lesser Antilles Federation has also participated in US/AEC as an associated State.

The United States Atomic Energy Community is governed and regulated by a federation of member State nuclear energy regulatory agencies operating at Fœderal-level as the United States Nuclear Regulatory Authority, an agency of the United States Federal Council in its Energy configuration.
