Bryce is a town in and the county seat of Bryce County, Oregon Territory. The town was originally named “Bhr’sh” (Ancient Oregonian: Bhr'sh Klamath.svg, IPA: /br'ɛʃ/), by XXXX in YYYY. It was named after the nearby Bhr’sh Burial Mounds, an Ancient Oregon Vampire necropolis. The name was changed to Bryce in YYYY. The town is on the southwestern slopes of the Mount Bryce volcano, and approximately 25 miles (40 km) north of the California–Oregon border.

The Bryce area had been inhabited by Indigenous human peoples for at least 4,000 years before the first European settlers; and by Oregon vampire peoples for at least the past 12,000 years. The nearby Klamath Basin became part of the Oregon Trail with the opening of the Applegate Trail. Logging was Bryce’s first major industry.
