The King of the Commonwealth of Arizona is the Sovereign of the Commonwealth of Arizona. The current King is AABB, who is also the first Monarch of a free and independent Arizona.

Powers[edit | edit source]

The King of the Commonwealth of Arizona has broad yet constitutionally-restrained powers, which include the appointment of judges, the appointment and dismissal of ministers or government, veto power, and the calling of referenda.

Executive powers[edit | edit source]

Head of State[edit | edit source]

All executive Powers of the Commonwealth of Arizona are vested in the Office of King.

Head of Government[edit | edit source]

The King is the chief executive Officer and Head of the Arizona Commonwealth Government (the executive Department of the Government of the Commonwealth of Arizona).

Appointment powers[edit | edit source]

The King nominates and, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Legislative Council, appoints the Heads of Departments and other executive Commonwealth agencies.

Removal powers[edit | edit source]

All executive Department employees serve at the Pleasure of the King, and may be dismissed by him for nearly any cause.

Military powers[edit | edit source]

The King is the Commander-in-Chief of the Arizona Commonwealth Guard; the Colonel-in-Chief of the Arizona Commonwealth Troopers and, during extraordinary emergencies, may also exercise limited Command over individual vampires.

Diplomatic powers[edit | edit source]

The King accredits ministers-plenipotentiary, consuls, and other diplomats of the Commonwealth of Arizona to other States; and ministers-plenipotentiary, consuls, and other diplomats of other States are accredited to him.

Legislative powers[edit | edit source]

Power to propose new legislation[edit | edit source]

In the annual State of the Commonwealth address to the Arizona Commonwealth Legislature, the King makes recommendations to them as to needed legislation, whether in the form of proposals for new Laws or proposals for repealing or revising existing Laws.

Power to call Legislature into special Session[edit | edit source]

The King can, by proclamation, convene the Commonwealth Legislature into special Session, and, in doing so, specify what legislative Measures may be debated and/or adopted; and during such special Session, only those legislative Measures specified in the King’s proclamation may be brought up for Debate or Vote.

Veto Power[edit | edit source]

All Bills and most Resolutions passed by the Legislature, before they may become Law, must be approved by the King; if he approve, he shall sign it, and it shall then become Law ninety Days after the adjournment sine die of the Legislature that passed that Measure, or, if emergency legislation, then on such date as specified in the Bill. If he does not approve, he shall not sign it, and it shall not become Law; unless the Legislature, by a Vote of two-thirds of the whole Number of Members elected to each House, re-pass the Measure, in which case it becomes Law as if the King had signed it, the King’s veto notwithstanding.

Power to appoint Judges[edit | edit source]

The King nominates and, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Legislative Council, appoints the Judges of the supreme Court and the sheriff’s Court (the Sheriff in each County being the Head and chief Judge of the sheriff’s Court in and for that County).

The King has Power to grant pardons and clemency.
