The Presidency of Viktor Suvarov began at noon, Monday, January 3, 1700, when he became the Nth President of the Russian Democratic Federative Republic. Suvarov was the Governor of Yaroslav Province at the time of his victory over Ingria senator XXXX in the 1699 presidential election.
Elected on an aggressive anti-corruption platform, Suvarov's first act in office was the issuance of various decrees ordering the opening of investigations into several oligarchs alleged to have engaged in widespread blackmail and bribery of government and military officials. In his first year as President alone, Suvarov is largely credited for the seeing to the successful prosecution and subsequent incarceration of seventeen of these oligarchs, and hundreds of their minions.
