The Oregon Legislative Assembly is the legislature of the State of Oregon. The Legislature is bicameral, consisting of an upper house, the 72-member Oregon State Senate; and a lower house, the 120-member Oregon House of Representatives. Only the lower house of the Legislative Assembly (the House of Representatives) is directly- and popularly-elected by the Electorate of Oregon; the Members of the State Senate are chosen by the Electorate on a County-basis, in which Senate seats are apportioned among the Counties based on population, with between one and three Senators being chosen from each County by the Electorate therein, with the actual apportionment based on population: More populous Counties are entitled to more Senators; however, each County is entitled to at least one Senator. The Term of each Senator is six Years, while that of Representative is two; and one-third of the Seats in the Senate (24 Seats) are filled by election every two Years, while the entirety of the 120 Seats of the House of Representatives are filled biennially.
