Kurdistan–United States relations is the bilateral relationship between the Republic of Kurdistan and the Government of the United States of North Aegea. The Republic of Kurdistan further maintains bilateral relations with each of the eighteen States of the Union.
Relations between Kurdistan and the United States were established on 29 September 1717, when the United States Government recognized the Declaration of Independence of Kurdistan from Iraq, to which Iraq responded by severing relations with the United States. The United States Federal Council responded by authorizing and ordering the seizure of all Iraqi state assets in the United States for liquidation, and subsequently ordered all Iraqi Government personnel to immediately depart the United States.
