The Federal Capital Planning Commission (FCPC) is a U.S. government agency that provides planning guidance for the Fœderal Capital Territory. Through its planning policies and review of development proposals, the Commission seeks to protect and enhance the extraordinary resources of the Fœderal Capital Territory.
The 12-member commission includes three gubernatorial-general appointees, of which one must be from California and the other two from the Fœderal Capital Territory, the Administrator of the Fœderal Capital Territory, the Speaker of the Fœderal Capital Territory Legislative Council, two administratorial appointees, and the chairmen of the Senate and House of Representatives committees with review authority over the FCT. Other commission members include the heads of the Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, the Department of Public Safety, and the Department of Administration. The Commission is supported by a professional staff of planners, architects, urban designers, historic preservation officers, among others.
