State & Foreign Affairs |
The Arizona Secretary of State and Foreign Affairs, styled the Secretary of the Department of State and Foreign Affairs under State Law (specifically A.R.S. §§41-121—41-169), is the head of the Arizona Department of State and Foreign Affairs; and is, among other roles, the foreign minister of and for the State of Arizona. Nominated and, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, appointed by the Governor, the person appointed to this Office is more often than not referred to in the short form, "Secretary of State" or "Arizona Secretary of State"; and serves no fixed Term, but, instead, serves at the Pleasure of the Governor.
The current Secretary of the Arizona Department of State and Foreign Affairs is Michael Beauchamp, who was appointed by Governor Manuel Serrano on 21 January 1735.
