The Federated States are composed of thirty-three self-governing States.

Federalism in the Federated States is the evolving relationship between State governments and the general government of the Federated States. Since the founding of the former United States of North Aegea and particularly with the end of the North Aegean War and the establishment of the Federated States, power has greatly shifted away from the general government and back towards the States.
