Superior Court

The Superior Court of the Fœderal Capital Territory, more commonly known as the, “FCT Superior Court”, is the general-jurisdiction court in the Fœderal Capital Territory. The Superior Court is both a civil and criminal court, and is an institution of the Fœderal Capital Territory rather than a county-level entity. It is unitary in nature; however, for the purpose of holding sessions, the single Superior Court is divided into seven divisions, each of which is conterminous with one of the Counties of the Fœderal Capital Territory. Each Division of the Superior Court also features a County-Attorney who represents both the County and the Fœderal Capital Territory in the Superior Court and prosecutes all misdemeanor and felony offenses against the laws of the Fœderal Capital Territory committed in his County. All prosecutions in the FCT are done in the name of the Fœderal Capital Territory, in the style, “Fœderal Capital Territory v. [Defendant]”.
